Apple launches the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, which come in two sizes, 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, and have a stylish design, camera enhancements, and new safety features. The sophisticated camera system in the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus captures images and videos with new Main and front TrueDepth cameras, the Ultra Wide camera for eye-catching views, and Photonic Engine, an improved picture pipeline. Both versions come with the A15 Bionic processor, which has a 5-core GPU and provides exceptional performance and efficiency for heavy tasks. It is also created with privacy and security in mind. Critical safety features including Crash Detection and Emergency SOS via satellite, a first in the industry, are introduced with the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. This iPhone series is also more sophisticated than ever before because to its incredible battery life, industry-leading durability features, and super-fast 5G. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will be offered in the following colors: midnight, blue, starlight, purple, and (PRODUCT)RED.

Customers can purchase the iPhone 14 for $33.29 per month for 24 months, which works out to $799 before trade-in, and the iPhone 14 Plus for $37.45 (US) per month for 24 months, which works out to $899 before trade-in, on the Apple website, in the Apple Store app, and in-person at Apple Store locations. Additionally, a few carriers and Apple Authorized Resellers carry the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

“Our customers rely on their iPhone every day, and iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus introduce groundbreaking new technologies and important safety capabilities. With the new, larger 6.7-inch display on iPhone 14 Plus, users can enjoy more content onscreen when browsing the web and even more text,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “Both phones have a powerful new Main camera with a huge leap in low-light performance, advanced connectivity capabilities with 5G and eSIM, and the incredible performance of A15 Bionic, which helps enable even better battery life. All of this, tightly integrated with iOS 16, makes iPhone more essential than ever.”

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus come in five different finishes and are available in two popular screen sizes, 6.1 inches and a new 6.7 inches. The iPhone 14 Plus has the longest battery life of any iPhone ever, and its bigger display is fantastic for watching movies and playing games. Both versions include Super Retina XDR screens with OLED technology that enable 1200 nits of peak HDR brightness, a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, and Dolby Vision, as well as an upgraded internal architecture for greater thermal efficiency. Additionally, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus include the strong Ceramic Shield front cover, which is unique to iPhone and more durable than any other smartphone glass. They also have water and dust resistance to safeguard them from typical spills and mishaps.

With a new 12MP Main camera with a bigger sensor and larger pixels, a new front TrueDepth camera, the Ultra Wide camera to capture more of a scene, and Photonic Engine for a huge jump in low-light performance, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus set a new bar for picture and video capture. Photonic Engine enhances photo performance in mid- to low-light conditions across all cameras, up to two times on the Ultra Wide camera, twice on the TrueDepth camera, and three times on the new Main camera. This is accomplished by a thorough integration of hardware and software. In order to produce amazing detail, retain delicate textures, improve color, and maintain more information in a shot, Photonic Engine applies the computational advantages of Deep Fusion earlier in the imaging process. This results in a substantial improvement in image quality.

New safety features that can offer aid in an emergency when it counts most are included in the complete iPhone 14 family. Crash Detection on the iPhone can now detect a serious auto accident and automatically call emergency services when a user is unconscious or unable to reach their iPhone. This is made possible by a new dual-core accelerometer that can detect G-force measurements of up to 256Gs and a new high dynamic range gyroscope. The barometer, which can now detect variations in cabin pressure, the GPS, which provides extra input for changes in speed, and the microphone, which can identify loud noises typical of serious auto accidents, are examples of existing components that are enhanced by these new capabilities. Even more precision is provided by sophisticated motion algorithms developed by Apple that were tested against more than a million hours of actual driving and collision data. The emergency services call interface will show on Apple Watch when a serious collision is detected since it is more likely to be near the user. If an iPhone is in range for the optimal connection, the call will be placed through the iPhone.

In addition, the iPhone 14 series incorporates Satellite Emergency SOS, which integrates customized parts that are intimately coupled with software to enable antennas to connect directly to a satellite, enabling communication with emergency services when away from cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. Communications with satellites may take minutes to arrive since they are moving targets with limited bandwidth. Because every second counts, the iPhone asks a few crucial questions to determine the user’s location and instructs them on how to point their phone to utilize Emergency SOS via satellite to connect to a satellite. The first question and any follow-up correspondence are then forwarded to offices staffed by specialists with Apple-specific training who may speak with Apple on the user’s behalf. When there is no cellular or Wi-Fi connection, users may manually communicate their position with Find My via satellite, offering a sense of security when trekking or camping off the grid. Emergency SOS via satellite will be available to consumers in the United States and Canada, and it will be free for the first two years.

The performance of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus is exceptional thanks to the A15 Bionic. In addition to powering camera features like Photonic Engine and Cinematic mode, the 5-core GPU also enables even smoother graphics for video apps and high-performance gaming. All of this is accomplished while maintaining an impressive battery life and maintaining privacy and security with the Secure Enclave. The 16-core Neural Engine, with its capacity of 15.8 trillion operations per second, and the 6-core CPU, which can perform demanding tasks smoothly and effectively, allow for even quicker machine learning calculations for features in iOS 16 and experiences in third-party apps.

In order to let consumers keep in contact, share material, and enjoy it, iPhone gives users fast download and upload speeds, improved streaming, and real-time connectivity with 5G. With extended support for independent networks, 5G support for the iPhone is currently available from more than 250 carrier partners in more than 70 regions worldwide. A more secure alternative to a physical SIM card, eSIM enables customers to instantly connect to or transfer their existing plans digitally and supports several cellular plans on a single device. For US models, the SIM tray is removed on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, allowing consumers to set up their smartphones more quickly and simply.

With iOS 16, available on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, customers will experience iPhone in a new manner thanks to a redesigned Lock Screen and new communication, sharing, and intelligence capabilities. With a multilayered effect that skillfully positions the subjects of images in front of the clock and freshly created widgets that deliver information at a glance, the Lock Screen is more personalized, attractive, and practical than ever. The wallpaper gallery provides a variety of options for Lock Screen inspiration, such as Apple collections, a Weather wallpaper that allows users to view current weather conditions as they change throughout the day, an Astronomy wallpaper that displays images of the Earth, moon, and solar system, among many other options.

Users may now modify or remember recently sent messages using Messages, and they can mark discussions as unread to return to them at a later time. 9 Sharing a collection of images with relatives is now more simpler thanks to iCloud Shared Photo Library. 10 In addition, Visual Look Up adds a new feature that enables users to tap and hold on an image’s subject to lift it out of the background and place it in apps like Messages, giving Live Text more power by enabling it to recognize text in video, quickly convert currencies, translate text, and more. Live Text also gains the ability to recognize text in videos.

The antenna lines on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are made of recycled plastic water bottles that have been chemically changed into a stronger, higher-performance material in order to reduce the environmental effect of the devices. All magnets, including those used in MagSafe, in iPhone 14 models are made entirely of recycled rare earth elements. Likewise, the Taptic Engine is made entirely of recycled tungsten. Both models also use 100 percent recycled tin and gold in the plating of several printed circuit boards and in the wiring of all cameras, as well as 100 percent recycled tin in the solder of multiple printed circuit boards. Apple is getting closer to achieving its goal of eliminating plastic from all packaging by 2025 thanks to fiber-based packaging, which does not utilize an outside plastic wrap. Apple already operates carbon-neutrally on a global scale and aspires to achieve complete carbon neutrality throughout its entire manufacturing supply chain and all product life cycles by 2030. This means that every Apple product sold will have a net-zero climate effect, from component production to assembly to shipping to customer usage to recycling to material recovery.
